Pakistani secularists condemn attacks on Christian community

Secularists in Pakistan have strongly condemned attacks on Christians in the country after mobs ransacked a Christian neighbourhood and torched dozens of homes over a blasphemy row in the city of Lahore.

The Army psychiatrist who shot up Fort Hood in 2009 has been growing a beard of late, which he has claimed is part of his official observance of Islam. Prosecutors have argued that he was growing it to defy Army regulations and to make himself harder to identify in court.
