Mitt Romney has taken the lead in the Real Clear Politics poll average, and has seen solid movement from his debate bounce.

The current average includes polls closing yesterday (10/9) and before.

Before the debate, Obama held a slender but steady 4 – 5% lead over Romney.

Polls closing 10/7 and later have favored Romney by 1 – 5%, except one tie. At this writing, Romney has a 1% lead in the average.

  1. Oh, how terrible. We may end up with a president who wants to start a bunch of expensive, pointless wars, kill off Social Security and Medicare, protect the rich at the expense of the poor, and insert religion where it does not belong… instead of a president who has started a bunch of expensive, pointless wars, attempted to kill off Social Security and Medicare, protected the rich at the expense of the poor, and inserted religion where it does not belong. Obama and Romney: a distinction without a difference.

  2. What exact wars did Obama start?

  3. Let’s see… we are variously occupying or bombing or both: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Under Bush, that was true for only 3 of these countries, so it’s Obama who got us here. If we’re dropping bombs on live targets, we’re at war. (Incidentally, although Obama is being painted as reluctant to start a war with Iran, what he has actually SAID is that the U.S. will not START a war, but we WILL invade if Israel starts a war. Israel’s government seems to want a war with Iran fairly desperately, so I’m not sure Obama’s stance is any better than just saying “we’re going to invade eventually”.)

  4. A little evidence please on the Sudan, CAE and Congo claims please. As for Libya…yeah considering the Libyan’s reaction to the militia that attacked our embassy…yeah we’re actually fairly popular in Libya. But please..let me know when you figure out a way to deal with terrorists that doesn’t involve killing them. One that would actually work. As for Iraq and Pakistan…lets do also bother to remember it was W that started those wars. And what? We should have left Osama bin Laden continue to exist and hide in Pakistan?
