Brighid Ofthe Forge. This article sounds more apologist not humanist. What would balance things out was an article on "A Sensible Humanist Approach" to the other side of Islam. Most know how to be nice to nice people regardless of flavor. I appreciate the obvious moral to the article of don't paint everyone with the same brush. But what about the side of Islam that is a problem? What do you do when you come up against the violent, bullying side? The side that requires one to tip toe around 'sensitive issues' and accomodate religious values and actions contrary to individual rights and freedoms and the secular law of the country? I'm not being sarcastic and its not about race; Its about a prevalence of religious fanatacism in some of this faith. I would really like to hear some solutions to the problems most don't want to talk about. If we don't talk about it how can we make things better?
