Muslim love vs. Hindu love: One dead, 20 injured in India
In India, it seems that even praying at the same time is too much for religious zealots from competing cults to handle.
From the town of Lucknow in Utter Pradesh, India:
Muslims offering morning prayers on the second day of Ramadan were upset by devotional singing by Hindus who were on their way to a temple for a regular Monday ceremony offering water and milk to Lord Shiva.
We can’t have praying to one all-powerful deity happen at the same time as a regular weekly ritual involving singing for another! The result?
A riot, of course. The Muslims and Hindus demonstrated their love and tolerance for the broad diversity of humanity, those all-important values both religions’ apologists insist they espouse, by hurling rocks at one another.
One young Muslim man was fatally shot, but the killer has not been identified.
Twenty were injured in the riot, and police have imposed a curfew on the town and closed schools.
Where would we be without loving religions to teach us to live in peace?
