Libertarian Party Candidate Gary Johnson: I Am The Most Experienced Guy Running

Is Gary Johnson the most experienced Presidential candidate?

If you’re looking for executive experience, yes. He served two terms as governor, more than Romney’s single term, and more than Obama’s single term as President.

More experienced in international relations? In national politics? Not so much.

Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson was in a mischievous mood when he stopped by Investor’s Business Daily’s Washington bureau Friday afternoon for a quick chat. He cheekily pointed out in the interview that his two terms as governor of New Mexico means he has more executive experience than either Republican nominee Mitt Romney or President Obama.

“You gotta have a resume to run for president of the United States and my resume shines. I got the bases covered here,” he said. “I have more executive experience in government than the other two candidates combined.”

The former Republican was candid about the problems he would face as a third party candidate but optimistic that he could raise the party’s profile and broaden its reach. That’s the advantage of being a third party candidate: You are free to speak your mind and talk about things — like defunding entitlements — in a way that a major party candidate trying to hold together a coalition usually shirks from.
