Jesus, the Easter Bunny, & Other Delusions: Just Say No!

Students, staff, and a curious public will gather at Willamette University in Salem, OR, for a thought-provoking engagement with the ever-controversial Dr. Peter Boghossian.

This Friday, April 27th, in Salem, Oregon, Dr. Peter Boghossian of Portland State University will challenge the conventionally held view that faith-based claims are privileged. Dr. Boghossian reasons that faith-based beliefs are no more than common admissions of ignorance.

Deemed “the Richard Dawkins of Portland” by some, Dr. Boghossian has recently generated intense debate on college campuses, on talk radio, and at dinner tables with the controversial stance that faith-based processes are unreliable and should not receive the respect they currently enjoy in society.

Sam Harris, author of “Letter to a Christian Nation,” writes, “We need more educators like Peter Boghossian.”

Michael Shermer, Founder of the Skeptics Society and Editor in Chief of Skeptic Magazine opines “[Peter Boghossian’s] lecture is one of the best single summaries of how to think clearly I’ve ever seen.”

The presentation is sponsored by Center for Inquiry–Portland, the Oregon branch of Center for Inquiry. The organization promotes science, reason, and secular values through education, outreach, and advocacy.
