In Brief: Is White Supremacy one of Glenn Beck’s favorite things?
Glenn Beck has stepped in it again, although this time it’s safe to say he’ll wish that nobody was paying attention.
On Beck’s twitter page, a curious item was listed among his list of favorite tweets– A link to a white supremacist website/message board called Malevolent Freedom. Beck has since cleared his entire favorites list, but the proprietor of StopBeck.com managed to get a screen-grab of the incriminating tweet.

One of Glenn's favorites?
For those unfamiliar with how Twitter works, StopBeck explains:
Now, to be clear, in order for the tweet to appear in Glenn Beck’s favorites either Glenn Beck or the operator of Glenn’s twitter account would have needed to mark the tweet as a “favorite.”
For a guy that connects anyone he doesn’t like to all kinds of nefarious imagined plots using the flimsiest connections, Glenn Beck favoriting a tweet from a self-described white supremacist group raises questions:
1. What’s the deal with Glenn Beck’s “white culture” obsession? What does he think it is? And, why does he insist on asserting that it’s under attack?
2. Why is Glenn Beck associating himself with white nationalists and white supremacists?
What do you think? Was this a harmless mistake on Beck’s part (or one of his staffers), who didn’t realize what the group was about, didn’t recognize the white supremacist/white nationalist symbol, and didn’t think “embrace white culture” is a racist stance?
Thanks to StopBeck.com.
So, on the Amazon.com page for THE TURNER DIARIES, the top "people who bought this also bought…" had Glen Beck's OVERTON WINDOW. since i saw it a few days ago, the entire "…also bought…" section from the book disappeared. interesting….
That sure is an interesting coincidence!
I'm not in the US, and don't really know or care who Glenn Beck is, but not everyone uses the star feature on Twitter to mark favourites. For example, perhaps he uses http://laterstars.com and marks tweets with links to things he wants to read later.
Kerry – Glenn Beck is one of the, if not the, leading voice of the conservative right wing in the United States, with millions of listeners to his radio show and viewers of his TV show. Celebrities do not use their public Twitter accounts to mark things they want to read later; they use them to share information and opinion with their followers.
The favorite is to a "White Pride World Wide" blog, which is itself a link to the Internet's #1 hate site and neo-Nazi/White Supremacist group Stormfront's news forum. The avatar also uses Stormfront's logo. Even so, there's nothing linking Glenn Beck to Stormfront, right? Except that "Planet of the Apes" comment he made Thursday, which goes directly with info also posted on Stormfront. Joan Walsh, editor of Salon, has more here, in case you're interested: http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/joan_walsh/poli… It should also be mentioned that Google cache shows Glenn Beck had favorited the site for weeks. ALL his favorites were cleared after 45 minutes of the link to them was first reported on Twitter. However, you can still see it here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=ca…
