So let's look at things like this: 1. Terry jones is an asshole. Without a doubt. Burning the koran is a deliberately Inflammatory act and I'm sure he knows exactly what will happen 2. Unfortunately for the islamic world, the very predictable response to this (as of yet not done) Book burning will be violence and hate, which may or may not be justified (just leave it at that, and finish reading before you go ballistic ladies and gents) 3. Bigoted christians and other groups will take the violent and hate filled response, and use it to further justify the position they have already taken...ie: look, they burned an embassy and killed innocents in response, they really are the devil! (Sort of a form of preaching to the choir id say) 4. The net result is further divisiveness. Remember, there are folks on both sides just acheing to turn this whole thing into a holy war, and some who already consider it so. So, if we take these points as a given, what do we rational people do? I personnally don't give a damn for religion at al, and these controversies take up too much of our time and attention when we should be concentrating our efforts as humans toward something a little less trivial....so... Muslims: yeah this guy sucks, get over it, we have freedom of speech. The same thing that let's you practice islam in america is the same thing that let's this dick burn books. Its a double edged sword. Sorry for the insult, jones is a dick. Try and be calm Christians: man, you really need to stop this whole islam is the devil, god hates fags, 9/11 happened because were impure ranting and raving. You make americans look like jackasses. If you're not the terry jones type, fine. Reject the loonies and well all be happier for it, maybe we can have some peace. I was raised one religion (didn't really practice it) and had many friends of different religions. I am fortunate enough to respect all people and their beliefs but am angered by extremists whether they be Muslim, Christian or otherwise. This group in Florida are extremists. People like them are who spread hatred in the world and cause other extremists to retailiate, only leaving issues unresolved and a string of bodies a long the way. The true beleiver's have peace, love, joy and the rightousness of God living in their heart. On our last day on this Earth when we come face to face with God he is not going to ask us how we wore are hair, what kind of clothes we wore, or what we ate. Those are the tradicion's of men. He will check our heart to see if we where good or evil. And above all He will want to know if our sins have been Forgiven. I hear way to much hatred here. Take a good look at your religion. Is it about Peace, Love and the Rightousness of God? Or Is it full of hate and the tradicion's of men? May the Peace of GOD be with you all.
