Florida church to hold Quran-burning

Dove World Outreach Center members show their Christian love.
Dove World Outreach Center is a non-denominational evangelical church in Gainesville, Florida. They have announced a special celebration of the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks . . . something that will show Christian love, reduce hatred between people of different religions, and lead toward greater understanding around the world. Or not.
Dove will host “International Burn a Quran Day” on September 11, 2010. Pastor Terry Jones says the idea came, in part, from the recent success of “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day”. He comments that “We feel, as Christians, one of our jobs is to warn,” and that burning the holy books of another religion will provide Muslims an opportunity to convert.
Jones missed the point of Everybody Draw. That event, in response to the irrational attacks (including physical assaults, attempted murder, attempted arson, and successful murder) on Western cartoonists, authors, and filmmakers who drew or otherwise criticized Muhammad, Islam’s prophet, was intended to communicate to radical Islamists that Westerners would not cave to their demands of censorship.
International Burn is not about freedom of expression. It is about hatred of Islam, not just the radical actions of some Muslims.
Jones and his congregation have chosen to take an action that will not convert Muslims to Christianity. It will only serve to fan the flames of hatred, enraging even moderate Muslims.

There are crazies in every religion but this…… well, a dose of hardcore hate from some "good" christians. These "christians" burning the Quran makes all christians look bad just as al-Qaeda makes all people of the muslim faith seem like terrorists. Really, they are burning the Quran in order to get people of Islam to convert? Why do christians always try to get people to convert? They can burn all the Qurans they want. What they cant do is burn the Quran which has been memorized by many Muslims word for word with great precision. It has been one of the only books to ever be memorized from front to back. Being a Muslim requires belief in the Old Testament as well as all the other religious books stated in Islam.

I guess I would be what people call a "moderate Muslim," and yes, I have to say that I am very close to being enraged. However, the sadness I feel overwhelms my anger. Its easy to see that radicalism from any religion does nothing but breed anger, and the truth in that concept simply makes me depressed. Our Prophet told us to always take the middle ground in all matters (except the oneness of God, which is uncompromisable to us), and to never live in an extreme manner. But before or after burning just read it to find out what’s wrong with it that justifies this action, just try to find if there’s a single sentence mentioned that encourages the killing of innocent people, or find out whether the Quran is talking only to Muslims or to whole humanity?
Quran says that if someone kills a human being without a justified reason, it will be just like killing the entire humanity, and the Quran also says that if you save someone from a wrongful death by any means, it equals saving the entire humanity:
“Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allah by committing the major sins) in the land!” (5:32)

I'm so dissappointed in who ever agreed to the issue burning Quran, first of all the Holy Quran doesn't belong to an individual it belongs to Allah subhana wataala, Allah revealed it to everybody in this universe not unless you misunderstood it and ignored it like the way you are right now, Allah subhana wataala said he will protect his people and his Holy Quran, if you are making sense why don't you read the Holy Quran written in english and then you will understand the defination of islam. I think we are in the beginning of the world war three and definately it will be the end of the world, we are in a journey everybody will die no matter how soon or how far and i think we are ready, so my point is stop wasting time on things that doesn't make sense, purify youself by obeying Allah there is no time to fool around, this goes to everybody that is involve in burning Holy Quran, please read the Quran translated in english and get the answer otherwise i can't help you.
