I imagine it'd be on a case-by-case basis, depending on whether the church is renting the space to the group, or is "lending" it, or is financially supporting VLS in some way, and whether the church has and adheres to a community use policy.

For example, if the church is raising funds to bring VLS "courses" to their facility, that could be a violation. If the church is providing the space for free to VLS but normally charges $100/hour to educational groups, that could also be a violation.

I must question the author's knowledge of politics in regards to church and state:

Churches allowing their buildings to be used for VLS are in no danger of losing their non-profit, tax-exempt status. It is not the church teaching the lessons, but a group renting (or borrowing) the church as per that institution's policy on community group use.

If allowing their building to be used by groups that are or are accused of being politically involved violates the church/state principles that govern tax exempt status, then municipalities better stop asking churches for use of their building as a polling place!

William, there is a difference between speaking the truth — some Founders were Christian, some were Deist, some had no known specific religious proclivities, but the majority believed that religion and government were best kept separate — and declaring that the United States is and always was a Christian nation founded on Christian principles with the intent of a Christian theocracy.

VLS is presenting the latter position.

Have you ever heard of the Baptist Joint Committee on Religious Liberty? You may wish to look them up. They are Christians who carry on the proud, centuries-old Baptist tradition of demanding separation of church and state, recognizing that only by keeping government out of religion and vice-versa can religious liberty be had.

If you don't like references to God and religion, if the terms diety and Divine Providence don't feel right to you, perhaps you could think of the passages wherein those are found in another term frequently used by our Founders — Nature.
But I suppose you'll mock this idea as well.
Meanwhile, I do not see VLS as revisionist. Indeed, it counters contemporary Leftist Revisionism by re-introducing founding concepts and principles to our kids.
