In Brief: Muslim hatemonger barred from entering the UK, but the Pope gets a free pass
While (banned Muslim extremist) Naik may support the execution of gays, his attempts at whipping up world-wide homophobia carry nowhere as much influence as that of Ratzinger’s, who only last year trumpeted that saving the world from homosexual behaviour was as important as saving the rainforests.
In the same month, the Vatican opposed a proposed UN declaration, backed by all 27 European Union states, calling for an end to the practice of criminalising and punishing people for their sexual orientation.
Since then Benedict has vilified gays on numerous occasions, and will no doubt do so again when his obscene, over-budgeted visit to the UK comes to fruition in September.
