Pat Robertson's 2010 Predictions: Wrath, Wrath, More Wrath

Perennially psychotic prophet Pat Robertson has once again had a conversation with God, and blessed us with the results on his “700 Club” television program. Surprise: Wrath!

Robertson claims that his imaginary friend told him that America’s failure to become a Christian theocracy has led to its now inevitable decline:

“You can’t have your courts turn against me,” Robertson said the Lord told him. “You can’t have legislation that is anti-God. You can’t foster in your midst things that I call an abomination. You can’t do that. And if you do, sooner or later judgment’s going to come.”

Robertson said God will not bless a nation where abortion is commonplace, homosexuality is institutionalized and government-sanctioned prayer and Bible reading are banned in public schools.

“How can we pray for his blessing when we have that going on and when we have courts that have ruled repeatedly against him?” Robertson asked. “We have the Bible taken from the schools. We have prayer taken from the children, and now we have perversion that God calls an abomination — we have that legitimized and given a constitutional standing by the court.”

Robertson said he did receive a clear word about the economy.

“We are engaged in a slow time of financial ruin,” he said. “This country will be ultimately bankrupt. It’s just a question of how soon. We’re beginning that. That’s one thing that I can say for certain that is happening. It’s a dangerous thing. It’s going to hurt America very badly.”

Robertson, perhaps learning from his many pathetically incorrect prognostications, avoided specific predictions, moving instead into the fuzzy world of 900-number psychics everywhere. He also based this last prediction in the reality of human nature and the US government’s freewheeling deficit spending:

Robertson said it is a problem not so much of government policy but human greed.

“Can you imagine if you are getting Social Security that you would say I want my Social Security check to get cut?” he asked. “The problem is so many people right now are depending on the government for their support, and there’s nobody who wants to give up anything at all, and if anybody begins to suggest fiscal restraint, the people will rise up against them and vote them out of office. So you’ve got a situation where you can’t arrest this problem — the big financial problem — because the people don’t want it. Only a movement of God that brings in a spirit of self-sacrifice and a desire for the common good and some wisdom are we going to be spared this thing.”

Robertson claims he has a good record with his predictions . . . as he should, since he claims they’re coming directly from an omniscient, omnipotent Creator of the Universe. However, Robertson’s noted for many misses — near and far — over the decades.

As a past Paliban contributor reported one year ago, Robertson made a series of predictions for 2009. These included a rapid recovery of the economy (nope), $300/barrel oil (nope), hyperinflation (nope), weakening of Islam (nope), and gold at $1900/ounce (nope).

In November of 2008, that same contributor demonstrated clearly, with solid Biblical logic, that Pat Robertson must be a false prophet. Follow the link and giggle over a gaggle of Robertson’s Godly gaffes going back to 1980.

Pat Robertson’s predictions never fail to amuse. Sadly, they’re given far too much weight by his followers, broadcast on the 700 Club instead of being where they belong . . . alongside Bat Boy on the cover of the Weekly World News!

  1. I have kind of been following what he makes for predictions and so far he has failed completely. If you try to point this out to people who follow him they always explain it the same why. It was his and their prayers that stopped the disaster predicted.

  3. Pat Robertson is a nasty old man who should shut up.
I think he is senile and a insufferable ASSHOLE!

    • "What is wrong with YOU? Why are you so nasty. Nothing is ever accomplished by name calling. OMG! Is this what we have to look forward to? If this is all you can come with, just don't say anything. What an embarrassment. PLEASE…say something intelligent.

    • Oh yeah, how much have you given to "ANY" charity to help with the recovery of Haiti. Or have you about to leave to go there to volunteer…oh, maybe you just came back…but probably not…right?

god can curse descendants all he wants no matter what the bible says

  6. we love you pat

  7. i have been a born again christian for 46 years. i dont know what God or what Bible pat robertson is reading but he better go visit Bill Graham to get clued in on what God says and wants us to do with our lives. and i know its not to condemn nations or people.

    • God does not condemn people its our evil ways that give birth to sin and sin its been judge by the word of the lord not for us but for the devil and fallen angels and those who want to follow them remember WE HAVE FREE WILL TO CHOOSE GOOD OR EVIL AND YES HE WANTS EVERYONE TO COME TO SALVATION BUT ITS A CHOICE.

      • Have you ever read the Bible, Ana?

According to the Bible, at Judgment God will resurrect sinners from the dead so He can cast them into eternal torture in a lake of fire. If He chose not to “condemn people”, couldn’t He just leave them dead?

He wants those who hurt Him by disobeying to suffer, and to suffer for ever and ever.

        • Pat Robertson is a lunatic. He is completely and utterly out of his mind. God is a loving father, not one who bestows bad fortune on millions of people. So pat, if you are reading this, it is you sir who made a pact with the devil, you are a heartless old man, comparable to the likes of Al Queada, Sadaam Hussein, and the taliban. You are an extremist who discriminates against anybody who isn’t like you. You, my friend, are the anti christ.

          • no, pat robertson is not a lunatic. he is sent by god as an example how not to be.
in fact…… i am seeing right now and hearing too, god pointing his finger at pat and
saying: see the yo yo there? take heed and never become like him and his followers….
ups….. jesus just walked in…. he says "get thee behind me, mush mouth…… i never
            knoew you"

        • I do read my bible and he is a loving God that wants everyone to have salvation in the book of revelation says that he created the lake of fire for the devil and the fallen angels and those who CHOSE TO DESOVEY AND DO THE EVEIL WAYS my friend that it is a choice that we make here on earth he wants you to be save and chose Jesus said in the gospel that he din’t come to judge but the word that is been spoken judges and yes he will put all evil in the lake of fire and those who CHOOSE

          • Especially the billions of people who’ve chosen to be born in places where they’ll never hear of Him, right?

Why not just leave them dead? Why resurrect them so He can torture them forever, if He loves sinners? What sort of sick monster do you think God is, that He’d do that to someone He loves??

            • Jenny be nice. You know asking someone who says they are a christian to think is a bad thing for them. They have been taught that to think their way though these types of things is a sin and they are only suppose to under think these things.

          • CHOOSE, ana? are you saying "we have a free will……..etc.? no ana….there is no free will…
look what paul in a letter is saying: "Praise be to God who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless In his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves."

this is what that mean only through Jesus Christ, we can enter heaven. the verse on top says that god has blessed "us" with christ, the "us" are those who god chose before it is creation, to be "holy and blameless". Υou can only enter heaven if you are blameless, without sin and to do that you need jesus. but you can only have jesus if god chosen you as one of the ones who is blessed with jesus. It specifically says, next, that god has predetermined particular chosen to be "sons of jesus. To this lucky people god has "Freely given" Jesus. To the others, there is no access to heaven, all of this is chosen, predetermined before we have had any chance to exercise free will. The cause and effect is not that our free will determines our fate but that we will act in a way that will save us, if god has chosen us to act that way. That…..clearly denies free will.

what happened to free will, ana?

        • Wrong Wrong Wrong u do not suffer forever the body burns up with a fervent heat. Heard of creamation body can only burn so long we go back to ash

  8. Mr. Robertson is a sad example of a Man of God ! He should do himself a favor and stop talking surly God will deal with him……the people of Haiti need our money and help not our men of God ?????? talking stupid trash .
Robertson followers need to find a Good Man to take his place.

    • They have a “Good man” I think his son took over the ministry, didn’t he? Well just like all the others Oral Roberts, Robert Schuler, Billy Ghram, I don’t know if all this God crap is true or not, but, one thing these “men of God” have shown me is Religion is a good place to start a family business. Of the hundereds of good godly people who have followed the teachings os these “poeple” for years, the only ones who apperently can continue the works of God are there offspring. Just a thought…..

  9. Pat Robertson is a self proclaimed leader of christian vlaues and pricicples.
I say My heart goes with his preaching and his commitment to the Christian
religeon and the bible because of his experience and his character, “right or
wrong”. God Bless your future and stay on purpose of what you feel in your
mind and heart as I know you are doing. The future of our country and in my
opinion and fact rests in your hands.

  10. Pat Robertson is a good Christian…that’s also the problem…

  11. The old fart will be so disappointed at the end, and he discovers death is all there is.

    • What if ur wrong then what??

  12. avatar patricia rigsby

He who is without sin cast the first stone. No stone throwing for me. people you better put a watch over your mouths. The sins of the tongue can kill a person.

    • I am throwing an internet stone right now. I don't sin but I have done things I shouldn't have. You sound like another that has forgotten to examine the book you claim to base your beliefs on. I'm not sure what the verse is but it clearly says that anyone making a claim about future events and them not happening is a false prophet. Your support of Pat Robertson just shows how easily people are fooled into believing things.

      • Oh yes you do we all sin u can call it what u like done things I shouldn't have= SIN

        • Try errors in judgement. Sin is for believers. Sin is your word not ours.

    • if pat was there when jesus said that…..he'd proably think jesus said "you go first, pat"

  13. As a following Christian and faithful decipal of our Lord Jesus Christ, can you please help me to understand what has happened in the Golf? What are we as Followers/Christians of the 700 Club doing to help these poor creatures of the sea? What does GOD our Father want us to do?

    • What happened in the Gulf?

      • Excessive regulation led to Federal agencies granting wholesale waivers instead of conducting a reasonable level of inspection and oversight.
      • Safety violations led to the failure of an offshore oil rig.
      • Oil leaked and the company responsible did not have an emergency plan in place, hence the delayed response.
      • People prayed en masse, to no effect. Finally, BP capped the well.

That is what happened in the Gulf.

Now, since you are a Christian, let me write the Christian perspective:

      • God, who is all-powerful and all-knowing, knew that the well would fail.
      • God did not stop the well from failing or inspire anyone to create an emergency plan.
      • God allowed multiple attempts to stop the largest environmental disaster in US history to fail.
      • God allowed the deaths of millions of sea creatures, the destruction of fragile habitats, and the collapse of the economy in a predominantly Republican-Christian area of the country.
      • God ignored the fervent prayers of millions, even on Days of Prayer led by politicians.

Therefore, God wanted this to happen, wanted millions of sea creatures to be destroyed, and wanted the already-poor Gulf region to be economically devastated. I suppose your real question is why your god wanted this to happen, isn't it? Does your god hate sea creatures? Does he hate Republicans? Does he hate Texas?

      • Well, no, none of the above, the well caught God off guard, God just didn't have His weekly chat with Pat Robertson, Pat was busy with his diamond mines, at his age he still doesn't have enough money, didn't give Him a head ups, He didn't know what to do, really, God respects Pat's opinion.

  14. America ,pls turn to the Lord Jesus, he's the way, the truth and the life, my heart cries for this country, that once loved the Lord, pls turn again to him and he'll save you.

  15. Everyone needs to take there eyes off of Pat and focus on God almighty. No man in this world will save us.The only savoir is Jesus Christ. Its not about relgion its about relationship. Can you people see what is happening in the world wake up.I dont trust no man.Only God ,if we think the world is bad right now ,well wait and see what next. And I am sure that when it really hits the fan and people cant feed there childen or walk outside without being shoot at will have a diffrent point of view. And the goverment turn on people and Gods wrath begins will let see who people will be crying out to. when death is near we all sing a diffrent tune.Jesus Christ is coming back and no man knows the time or the day.So forget these pastors and read the bible your self and hold on to it cause men kind will always leave you and forsake you .Take care and God Bless.

  16. Cling blindly and helplessly to Jesus. The world seems drunk with religion, skepticism, weirdness ,indifference and
the distortions of political commitment, just like me, its enough to make your spin. Therefore, for those of us that are like this must cling to Jesus or
a Higher Power with a little bit of help from friends or a support group to remain sane in a crazy world and somehow take our place in glory and freedom in the here and now.
