Glenn Beck in Bed with Big Business
There may be a modestly-successful boycott of his television show underway, but that isn’t stopping the Michigan Chamber of Commerce from embracing Fox News’ Glenn Beck as its keynote speaker at a conference.
The “2009 Future Forum and Annual Meeting” of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce features two keynote speakers: Thomas Donohue, President of the US Chamber of Commerce at the opening, and Glenn Beck at dinner.
Perhaps they hope their guests will lose their appetites?
ThinkProgress.org points out:
The top sponsors of the Michigan event are Comcast, AT&T, and Consumers Energy. AT&T is on the board of the Chamber of Commerce but has pulled its ads from Glenn Beck’s show. Other Chamber members who have stopped advertising on Beck — but are giving him a platform in Michigan — include Aegon, CVS, State Farm Insurance, and UPS.
