Polls – Sonia Sotomayor, Bigot? and New Racism vs. Old Racism

Today we have two polls for you! Is Sonia Sotomayor, Supreme Court nominee, a bigoted racist? Also, is the “New Racism” really anything different from the “Old Racism”?

As we reported, even the Obama White House agrees that Sonia Sotomayor is a racist:

On Friday, the White House joined so-called “right-wing nut jobs” in blasting Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor’s 2001 comment that a “wise Latina woman” could make better judgments than a white man.

While White House spokesman Robert Gibbs attempts to spin this obvious bigotry as “simply making the point that personal experiences are relevant to the process of judging”, it’s obvious that Sotomayor is a Class A bigot.

We also reported that Sotomayor is a member of the National Council of La Raza, a Latino organization dedicated to the “reconquista” of the Western US.

La Raza teaches that Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington State make up an area known as “Aztlan” — a fictional ancestral homeland of the Aztecs before Europeans arrived in North America.

These areas belong to the Latinos and Latinas and must be surrendered to “La Raza” once enough immigrants, legal or illegal, come to constitute a majority, as in Los Angeles. Once this is achieved, the current borders of the United States will simply be obliterated.

As part of this plan, La Raza promotes illegal immigration and distributes materials teaching illegal aliens how to avoid detection.

Many across the nation disagree with Our Beloved Leader, and claim that Sotomayor is no racist. So, let’s settle it. Is the woman who claimed that being a “Latina woman” made her better able to decide matters of law than an “old white man” demonstrating bigotry, or not?

On May 29, John Ridley wrote an inflammatory article for the Huffington Post, attacking Newt Gingrich for daring to say that some non-white people are racist, and claiming that all racism is not equal.

Old white guys can be a funny bunch, can’t they? The same anti-same-sex marriage, anti-affirmative action cadre can flower into the biggest supporters of “equality” the minute they get a whiff of minority empowerment.

But here’s the deal, Newt, your “new racism” isn’t like “old racism” ’cause “old racism” tended to involve things like shackles, and whips and the Middle Passage. Attack dogs, Billy clubs and water hoses. Burning crosses and lynch mobs.

In spite of the fact that Proposition 8 in California passed largely because of black and Hispanic voters (check the demographics and you’ll see 70% of blacks voted yes, and 53% of Hispanics, but only 49% of whites and Asians), Mr. Ridley seems to think that only white people can be bigoted.

What do you think?
