If we are to defend the Bible, we also must not add things to it. Semiramis is not mentioned in the Bible, and in fact, there is no consort of Nimrod alluded to. Semiramis is the name of a real Assyrian queen, who lived a thousand years after Babylon. She reigned over much of Asia and Ethiopia when she served as regent for her son.

Baal, on the other hand, was indeed considered messianic in Canaanite religion. Son of the supreme god El, his father betrayed him and he was reborn as a calf. Here's the thing though- Baal is a Canaanite word that means Lord. It is not the name of a person. In any event, he has no connection to Nimrod.

I was curious where your theory came from, and found it in a book by Alexander Hislop, called The Two Babylons. You should know that bible scholars and historians alike consider this 1853 publication to be fraudulent.

So peter, you claim the author is misinformed, but instead of providing examples of misinformation, you use your feeble understanding of English grammar to call the author names, a very popular technique among the grade-school crowd. If you have any swing, you should pray for your own literacy.

The Catholic church *may preach* what Jesus said, but they sure don't follow it. They deserve millstones all around.

God not allowing the bible to be altered is bullshit. Have you not heard of cannon and when MEN decided what would go into the bible and what wouldnt, even ignoring other gospels of peter yet including the one they want. God lets humans commit evil acts, even to the bible. He allowed the satanic bible to be created… are you saying he is so weak he couldnt stop it?

The bible is a book witten by man and therefore corrupted by man's evil. If Im wrong why isnt god stopping me from saying so? Your argument is a weak argument. Oh by the way, I am christian but unlike you I dont go against my innate feelings of right vs wrong to follow "man's" book.

I found this to be quite enlightening.

Of course now I shall need to go and research for myself as I always do. I was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist and though I no longer profess any particular faith, I do still revere the Word of God and study the Bible in my quest to be closer, ever closer to God, the Creator of ALL the UNIVERSE.

I used to think that all of the “Easter” stuff with the eggs, Easter baskets and what-not was just all for fun. I had no idea that the history behind it all was so convoluted and poluted with hidden agenda…darkness…

This makes my heart so heavy…but…

“This…THIS…THIS is the Day the Lord hath made; I shall REJOICE and be glad in IT!”

I don’t understand why people get upset when others are trying to bring them back to the bible.

Easter is indeed a celebration of the fertility goddess. There are still places today that color eggs with one bright color. Can you guess that color?
Bright RED for the blood of the many babies that was sacrafice to Molech.

Many people celebrate holidays but don’t really understand why. Tradition plays a huge role.

Easter and Christmas are both celebrations of god and goddess. Christ was not even born December 25th. Want to know how they came up with that date? Catholic mainly knew that Easter, Molech, Nimrod, and many of the other gods/goddess birthday is celebrated none other then December 25th. Catholics believed they could conteract some of this negative celebration with a celebration of the birth of christ.

Christmas trees… not biblical either and why christmas balls on a tree? The real reason will discuss any person and that I will leave for you to research.
Christmas true meaning is not the birth of Christ. For those that love Christ here is what I have to say. If you belive in Him so much observe the holidays he observed. When others were doing Easter he did Passover. If you have a few moments study Passover and come to your own conclusion.
